As a surgery, we are deeply saddened at the constant abuse that our staff are receiving on a daily basis.
Our staff have worked throughout the pandemic under extremely difficult circumstances, as a lot of you will also have and understand these pressures. They have not been furloughed or working from home and have been working hard to provide the best service possible for all our patients.
We understand the frustrations regarding healthcare provision at the moment but the pandemic is not the fault of our staff. We have had to change the way we offer healthcare during the pandemic to ensure the safety of everyone. However, the surgery has been open throughout and we have been offering telephone and face to face consultations where clinically appropriate.
As a surgery we are faced with ever-increasing demand. We can only offer a certain number of appointments based on the number of clinicians we have available which can vary day to day.
Our staff continue to support the COVID-19 vaccination clinics at Robin Park and have also been out doing COVID-19 boosters and flu vaccinations for our housebound patients.
We are also experiencing high call volumes regarding queries around COVID-19 vaccinations which is contributing to a longer than average wait time on the phones.
We are aware of the issues with the telephony service and this has been feedback to our IT department and is being worked on but unfortunately this is out of our control.
We are still working at a reduced level due to staff self-isolation rules and staff that are in are doing their upmost to continue to deliver services for our patients.
